Controls Workbench
An owner-side project controls workbench. Schedule, cost, risk, change, interfaces and reporting sit on one data spine — the same control accounts, periods and baseline — so every figure on a monthly report traces back to where it came from.
Major programmes rarely fail inside a work package. They fail at the seams: between contracts, phases, systems, data and organisations. This workbench is built to make the seams visible.
The workbenches
- Data Structures — portfolio set-up, breakdown structures and control accounts.
- Scope — scope statements, WBS dictionary, assumptions and exclusions.
- Schedule — schedules and updates from any planning tool (P6, Microsoft Project and others), DCMA 14-point quality checks and reporting.
- Estimating — cost estimates, rates and basis of estimate, classified by AACE estimate class.
- Risk — risk registers, responses and Monte Carlo schedule and cost risk analysis.
- Baseline — integrate, reconcile, risk-test, validate and lock the baseline.
- Cost — budgets, actuals, commitments, cashflow, earned value and forecasts.
- Change — trends, change requests, compensation events and variations.
- Interface — the seams between projects: dates, agreements and issues.
- Reporting — monthly reports, portfolio status and exports.
